8th Annual National Kezurou-kai USA Event

Rowan Woodwork is excited to host the 8th Annual National Kezurou-Kai USA Event the weekend of October 5+6. If you’ve enjoyed Kingston Kez and want to learn more about hand planing from experts in the craft, this is an opportunity not to be missed! Join folks from around the world for two full days of activities, lectures, and demonstrations.

The event will feature..

  • lectures and presentations on topics from Japanese boat building to joinery

  • multiple tool and material vendors

  • a hand plane competition on Sunday

  • a hands-on station where you can try out tools cutting mortise and tenon joints

  • freshly prepared Japanese food from Tanma Ramen (and a special appearance of Kazuma Oshita and his metalwork you won’t want to miss…!)

  • time to hang out and socialize with fellow enthusiasts

Check out the full schedule of events for October 5+6 here, and snag tickets for the whole weekend, or to see the planing competition on Sunday!

Don’t forget to bring your tools! On both days, knowledgeable experts will be available to answer questions and give tuning advice. This event will take the place of our monthly Kingston Kez, which will resume with gusto on November 1. Hope to see you in October!
